Support

LitWire is committed to radical transparency that promotes complete openness and visibility in all operations, decisions, and communications within an organization. This involves sharing information that is traditionally kept confidential, such as financial data, strategic plans, decision-making processes, and even personal feedback. The aim is to foster trust, accountability, and collaboration among all community members who participate by submitting their events or who visit this website.

Decision-making processes: Sean F. Munro established and finances LitWire, which he founded in 2022. With the help of Jonathan Penton in web design, this website was created. For the first year, Munro added the events manually, one at a time, and took submission through email. Eventually, he subscribed to Events Calendar Pro, which is a paid feature for community submissions. He makes decisions for this website and is open to any ideas and feedback that can help make the site more accessible and/or useful. To communicate with him about this site, accost him on the streets of New Orleans or send an email to litwirenola@gmail.com

Strategic plans: There are no wild or complicated strategic plans yet, but LitWire will continue to provide a literary events calendar for as long as possible. Some other things that are lined up to be added to the site are a listing of literary organizations, both granting and non-granting, a list of publications and presses, and maybe one day a historical archive of literary activity in New Orleans. If you have any other ideas, I’m open to them, and if you’re not in New Orleans and you’re interested in setting up a literary event calendar in your city, please reach out at litwirenola@gmail.com
