On Odes: Writing What You Love

(A FREE Generative Poetry Workshop)

One of the oldest poetic forms is the ode, but what can we still learn about what we love today? Join this workshop where we will trace the ode from its ancient beginnings through John Keats, Sharon Olds, and more! Then, we will use these odes to write our own poems about the things we love (or love to hate).

Join us for a virtual poetry workshop where we’ll dive into the art of odes! Whether it’s your morning cup of coffee or your favorite pair of socks, we’ll explore how to write about the things we hold dear. This workshop is all about celebrating the everyday and turning it into poetry. No experience necessary, just bring your love for writing and an open mind!

Todd Osborne is a poet and teacher originally from Nashville. His debut poetry collection, Gatherer, came out last year from Belle Point Press. He lives in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, with his wife, their son, and their three cats.
