Join us on November 20 for New Orleans is for Writers, a lecture exploring the voices, stories, and history that shape New Orleans’ literary culture. Tulane professor and author T.R. Johnson will share insights from his work, followed by a brief Q&A.
T. R. Johnson is a Professor of English and Weiss presidential fellow at Tulane University. He is the editor of NEW ORLEANS: A LITERARY HISTORY (2019) and the author of NEW ORLEANS: A WRITER’S CITY (2023), both from Cambridge University Press. He has lived in the ninth ward of New Orleans near the Mississippi river since 1999 and has hosted a contemporary jazz radio show at WWOZ 90.7 FM since 2001. He grew up in Louisville.
