LMNL Reading Series ft. Taylor Wood, Lee Lemond, Elizabeth Miki Brina, and Adrian Van Young!

Fall is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than a reading with some of our favorite writers in Parleaux’s gorgeous courtyard?
Lee Lemond (they/them) is a writer, yoga and meditation teacher from New Orleans, Louisiana. They write poems and essays on philosophy, life, and spirituality. They are currently working on a series called the Coffee Sutras, one of which has been published in Trampoline. Elizabeth Miki Brina is the author of Speak, Okinawa: A Memoir, published by Knopf in February of 2021, and one of NPR’s best books of the year. Her work has also appeared in The Sun, River Teeth, Lit Hub, Gulf Coast, and Hyphen Magazine, among others. She lives and teaches in New Orleans.
Taylor Wood is a fiction writer based in New Orleans. His work has been published in journals from Brief Wilderness to Book XI to the 2024 LMNL Anthology where he was also a recent semi-finalist in the Patty Friedmann Writing Contest. Wood also self-published a collection of short fiction and poetry based on bar bathroom graffiti titled The Writings on the Stall and will soon be releasing a surreal horror collection. He
is currently seeking representation for his first novel.
And all the way from Paris, we have Adrian Van Young!!! The Man Who Noticed Everything, a story collection and Van Young’s first book of fiction, won Black Lawrence Press’ 2011 St. Lawrence Book Award. His second book, Shadows in Summerland, a novel, was republished by Open Road Media in September, 2020. His third book of fiction, Midnight Self, a story collection, was released from Black Lawrence Press in October 2023. Van Young’s fourth book of fiction, Rough Beast, a novel, will also be released from Black Lawrence Press in October 2026, to be followed by his fifth, another story collection, Family Thing, in October 2027.
