Our feature will perform for a short set, then we’ll take a break before the open mic.

Owen Neace is a poet and cyanotypist living in New Orleans. He holds an MA in Spanish from Saint Louis University and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Alabama. He received two fellowships from the Alabama Prison + Arts Education Project and implemented the program’s first Spanish language and poetry correspondence courses. His pedagogy incorporates literature, music and visual art in student-centered language learning. His translations and poems have appeared in Quarterly West, DIAGRAM and elsewhere; and he is currently seeking publication for his translation of Primitivos relatos contados otra vez, a collection of Amazonian creation stories
